APPEAL | Serious assault, Plymouth |

We are appealing for witnesses and relevant footage following a disturbance involving a number of individuals in Plymouth. Officers were called to the Mildmay Street area of the city at around 2.50pm on Saturday 1 November following a report a male had suffered a stab wound to the chest – possibly from a screwdriver. It was reported the man had been stabbed following an incident in Hospital Road during which a number of people were present and a sword was also brandished. Armed officers were deployed and arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since been released on police bail. A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has also been released on police bail. A man in his 20s has today, Monday 3 November, been arrested on suspicion on affray. He remains in police custody at this time. Officers were able to recover a sword from inside a property. The man who was stabbed was taken to hospital following the incident. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
